Former Rotherham and Bury boss Knill, 48 on Tuesday, came underfire from a section of travelling Iron fans after Stevenage midfielder Greg Tansey's solitary second-half goal condemned Scunthorpe to a third straight league defeat that left them third from bottom.
"I've done it before and I'll no doubt do it again. We'll get out of it and we'll be better than we were last year," said Knill, whose side have won only two of their 14 matches this season.
He told the press conference after the game: "We're just having a few teething problems at the moment. Don't get me wrong, when my head hits the pillow, I'm not dreaming about clouds I'm thinking 4-4-2 or whatever.
"As a manager, worry is an absolute constant. You're always thinking and worrying, but the only way to get through it is to work harder. As long as you've got players that want to work harder, you do."
Knill added: "We did enough to get something out of the game and yet we've come away with nothing. That's why we are where we are."
