Preston North End's Akpo Sodje has signed a new contract with the club that will run into December.

The striker, 32, is the second top goalscorer for the Lilywhites this term after scoring seven goals in 14 appearances following his move to the club in the summer.

The former Sheffield Wednesday forward was snapped up after a successful pre-season trial and has been offered a new deal after his original contract expired following the weekend's 4-1 win over Stevenage.

Preston are the 10th club of Sodje's career after spells at Stevenage, Margate, Ebbsfleet, Huddersfield, Darlington, Port Vale, Charlton and Hibernian.
