The Blades boss led his side to five wins and a draw which saw them climb up into the automatic promotion places. George Long has also been named League One Player of the Month.

Wilson told Sky Sports: "It's been fantastic. We've had quite a solid start at the back and a young lad has come into the goal, young George Long, who has been fantastic for us and overall we've looked very strong and quite solid in the defensive unit.

"We are favourites in the bookies' eyes but we know how tough this league is and we take nothing for granted."

Wilson continued: "It is not really a personal thing, it is how well your team is doing and they have done very well. We have put some great results together and to be acknowledged at the end of it is tremendous.

"It means we are doing something right, which is nice. The expectation level is so high that it goes unnoticed sometimes so it is nice when the recognition comes from the club's point of view and a personal one."
