The midfielder made his debut for the Shakers in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Colchester having been released by Stoke in the summer.

Currently on non-contract terms at Gigg Lane, Soares is hoping his willingness to go unpaid for Kevin Blackwell's side shows his commitment to the club.

He told BBC Radio Manchester: "It's not about the money at the moment. It's just about me getting back playing football and enjoying it again.

"It's been difficult being out of the game, but it's good to be back. I've been trying to get a team, but sometimes these things are difficult.

"I'm just taking every day as it comes. The manager gave me a chance to play on Saturday. I'll just keep going into training and working hard, and hopefully I'll get something sorted."
