The Latics are in 16th place, following back-to-back league victories against Hartlepool and Shrewsbury.
As they prepare to extend that run against Dean Saunders' third-placed Rovers, Dickov has assured his players they can play with complete freedom with the pressure off.
He told the Manchester Evening News: "The wins take the pressure off us. Nobody will be expecting us to get anything and with the six points we have got in the bag we can go and have a right good go.
"Hopefully we can go there and play with a bit of freedom. They can go there and show people what good players they are - express themselves against a good team and get the ball down.
"We want three wins on the bounce and if we can't get that we want to go three undefeated."
