Laws publicly criticised his team following the defeat, questioning the mentality of his squad.

But the Iron boss believes his players have taken his views on board and are now ready to help lift the club out of the drop zone.

He told This Is Scunthorpe website: "We've had a couple of fantastic meetings with the players this week. The players have been very responsive over the past couple of days and we're delighted with that.

"The main thing we've tried to work on with players is their mindset.

"We're trying to tap into the players' minds, because it's not about ability or physicality, it's their mentality. We need to get between their ears and work with them to try to give them a better understanding."
