Rovers overcame the Spireites in the opening game of the season, when late goals from Cole Stockton and Abdulai Bell-Baggie secured a 2-1 extra-time triumph.

A 12-match unbeaten run followed to fire the Prenton Park outfit to the League One summit, but the effects of injuries to key players have taken their toll in recent weeks and Doncaster are level on points with them ahead of the break for FA Cup second-round action against the Spireites this weekend.

Moore said: "It was a fantastic cup game. We had a young side out on that night, Cole Stockton did well and Bell-Baggie scored the winner.

"It was a good team performance from us and I think it really kicked us on from then - we never really looked back.

"It would be nice if we could get back to business on Saturday and kick another nice little run along with the new year coming, but it won't be easy."
