Iro: Up for Bees challenge

The 28-year-old joined Boro after leaving the MLS in America over the summer but has yet to make an appearance for Gary Smith's promotion chasers.

Instead, Iro is hoping to make his Bees debut when the league's bottom club take on fellow strugglers AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

"I'm hoping to play. That's why I came here, to play some games," he said.

"I see this move as a great opportunity for me, and Barnet look like they could do with some help as well.

"If I get on against Wimbledon, then great; if not, I'll keep working hard in training.

"I'm here for another six weeks and if at the end of that the gaffer at Stevenage, who I get on well with, says there is still not much of an opportunity there and it's best I stay, then that's a possibility.

"But if I'm not playing then there's no point. My objective is to play and I'll keep my focus on that."
