Moore was frustrated in his attempts to bring in a replacement during the recent transfer window after top-scorer Jake Cassidy returned to parent club Wolves at the end of his loan spell.

Moves for Sheffield Wednesday duo Chris O'Grady and Gary Madine and Norwich's Chris Martin fell short, but Moore will continue his search when the emergency loan window opens on Thursday.

"We're still looking, there's no doubt about that," he said. "That's the area where we are a little bit short, in height really more than anything.

"We've got a lot of pace there with Michael O'Halloran, (David) Amoo, Akpo (Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro) and young (Cole) Stockton.

"So we just need something like Stockton - big, tall, strong. We thought we had Chris O'Grady last week but he turned us down and went to Barnsley.

"We've enquired about the lad Martin who's at Norwich but we can't afford to bring him in unfortunately and (Gary) Madine at Sheffield Wednesday as well we've enquired about.

"So we've knocked on all the doors but we just haven't been able to get somebody to come in yet."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
