Byron Webster, James Hayter's penalty and League One player of the month Madden racked up the Somerset side's eighth consecutive league win.

Madden, who notched his 18th goal of the season and his 10th in seven matches, was hailed by his boss, who was delighted with his side's scintillating display.

Johnson said: "It was another great day for us - we are in a rich vein of form.

"Paddy could have had a few more goals, but he's a class finisher. It's not just that though, it's his workrate which we're proud of. If you've got a striker who is working hard and earning his goals then you've got a real chance.

"To play on a heavy pitch like that is nothing more than miraculous, so we're very proud and scored three very good goals. We deserve to be where we are in the league.

"When you go third then of course you must start believing that you've created a team that could challenge for promotion.

"There are plenty of games to go so we've got to be careful because we've got a couple of difficult away trips coming up.

"We're really enjoying things at the minute and our supporters and players are happy. We're doing the right things at the right time and the boys are showing 100 per cent commitment to the cause."
