The U's head to Brunton Park knowing a point will guarantee their survival as the season reaches its climax with the hosts already having secured their safety.

Depending on Scunthorpe's result against Swindon, events in Cumbria may prove academic, but Ibehre is confident the Colchester players are ready for the battle.

He told the East Anglian Daily Times: "It's the biggest game for many of our careers.

"You are playing for your League One status, you are playing for your families, your own personal careers and your own pride.

"They are safe, and we are going there to rip their heads off! We're playing for our lives, and I am sure that will make a difference. There is no other game. This is it."

e're our own worst enemy. We're suicidal in defence, and we may just get slaughtered on Sunday. Other than that, I am very pleased with my team.
