Goals from Patrick Bamford and Ryan Lowe guaranteed the Dons a top-10 finish in League One.

Robinson admitted he was disappointed to miss out on the play-offs but, after a well-deserved drink, the hard work will start almost instantly ahead of next season's start in August.

"It's been a perfect way to end, our fans sang their hearts out and we performed very, very well," Robinson said.

"It's a case of us looking forward to next season, our fans were magnificent and the players showed how much it meant to them by throwing their shirts into the crowd at the end.

"We want to build on this year, we are a very competitive team and we want our good players to stay.

"Where do we go from here? I'll enjoy the win, have a pint and on Monday start planning for next season. Let's see where the summer takes us.

"It was a very slick game, we finished the season off in style and it's only going to set us up for next season."
