Wolves have suffered a humbling fall from grace to tumble into the third tier, but will be looking to make a positive start on the road to recovery under new boss Kenny Jackett when they travel to Deepdale to face Preston on 3rd August.

Bristol City suffered relegation out of the Championship alongside Wolves last season and can expect a tough opening examination when they face a Bradford side still revelling in their exploits from 2012/13 - which saw them win promotion and grace the League Cup final.

The third side looking to bounce back up at the first time of asking is Peterborough United, and they start their season with a home date against Swindon Town - who reached the play-offs last term.

Brentford suffered a double dose of promotion heartache in 2012/13 - as they missed out on a top-two finish and lost the play-off final - and the Bees will be determined to go one better this time around, starting with a trip to League One new boys Port Vale.

Sheffield United, now under the guidance of David Weir, came up short in the play-offs for a second successive year in 2013 and will be desperate to put things right when they kick-off their campaign at Bramall Lane against Notts County.

Rotherham are back in the third tier after many years of knocking on the door and will want to prove that they can hold their own among more prestigious company when they travel to Crewe Alexandra.

Gillingham landed the League Two title in 2012/13 and Martin Allen will be looking for the feel-good factor at Priestfield to carry his side past Colchester United.

Leyton Orient and MK Dons narrowly missed out on a top-six finish last season and both open the new campaign out on the road, at Carlisle United and Shrewsbury Town respectively.

Coventry City will want to put their troubles of last season firmly behind them when they open a new chapter away at Crawley Town.

Opening day foes Stevenage and Oldham Athletic will want to steer clear of another basement battle in 2013/14, while Walsall and Tranmere Rovers will be looking to push themselves into the promotion-chasing pack.
