The 20-year-old only arrived at Valley Parade last summer following a successful trial but proved to be a valuable member of manager Phil Parkinson's side during his debut campaign.

McHugh made 28 appearances in total including six Capital One Cup starts as he helped the Bantams reach a memorable Wembley final, even getting his name on the scoresheet in a dramatic 3-1 semi-final first leg victory over Aston Villa.

McHugh's efforts for Bradford last term saw him recognised at Under-21 level for the Republic of Ireland.

He will now look to establish himself as a regular starter in Parkinson's XI as the Bantams aim to survive in League One following May's play-off success.

t's why Mourinho is so successful. He gives players a specific, limited set of functions to perform. They are but a cog in a machine. Do no more, do no less. I assume he learnt it from LvG :)

really hope that someone in the mainstream media spots that the Bayern manager played for and managed Barcelona quite well, and thinks to mention it in the build up. That would be really interesting.
