Adam Rooney: Joining Oldham for pre-season training

The Latics have confirmed that the 25-year-old former Birmingham striker will be available for the club's pre-season friendlies despite confusion over his situation with the Robins.

Rooney spent the whole of last season on loan at the County Ground scoring nine league goals in 29 appearances.

An official statement on Oldham's official club website read: "Adam Rooney is currently training with Oldham Athletic in order to retain his fitness levels whilst he attempts to resolve a contractual dispute assisted by the Professional Footballers Association.

"Adam will feature in the club's pre-season fixtures.

"Neither the club nor the player will be making any further comment or speaking to the media about this arrangement."

This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

I

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
