Pappoe, who will head to the League One club until January 12, has been with the Blues since the age of 12 and this will be his first loan move away from Stamford Bridge.

He finished last season as the captain of the club's Under-21 side having been a regular in the NextGen series in Italy.

Pappoe follows in the footsteps of team-mates Sam Walker and Billy Clifford who were borrowed by Colchester last season.
