Rotherham recovered from going a goal down to win 3-1 in their second leg encounter at the New York Stadium to set up a Wembley final against Leyton Orient.

Evans was full of praise for his players after they produced a superb comeback to end Preston's dreams of reaching the Championship.

"I said before the tie that we had to be very, very good. We have beaten a fantastic football club, a good manager full of good players," Evans told sky Sports

"I am very proud to lead this football club. We have got a super duper chairman, incredible supporters but it is the players who win football matches and our players have been absolutely fantastic all season and we deserve to go head-to-head against Leyton Orient at Wembley."

Evans is relishing the challenge of taking on Leyton Orient for the right for a place in the Championship.

"To come back the way we did and boss the game says it all about us. We've seen them out," he added.

"The final is going to be a masssive game, we've turned over Preston - the media favourites - so bring on Leyton Orient."
