Lindfield: Gets new Reds deal

The 23-year-old former Liverpool youngster is now set for a third season with Stanley having featured as an emergency right-back in recent weeks due to the club's injury crisis.

Lindfield joins defender Peter Murphy and youth team trio Marcus Carver, Ryan Hopper and Adam Stockdale in committing his immediate future to manager Paul Cook

"I didn't play as much as I would've liked last year but if I start on Saturday that'll be 30 starts this year which is a good amount," Lindfield told Accrngton's official website.

"I think I've done pretty well overall and I'm happy with my progress - even the transition to right-back!

"We would've liked to have done better as a team this season and been challenging for the play-offs again but that has to be a target for next year now.

"I think the gaffer's going to get a lot of his own players in after this transitional period we've had. He can go away over the summer and bring in the players he wants to bring here and hopefully we can kick on."
