Harrison: Departs Don Valley

The 29-year-old, who joined in 2007, has made over 200 appearances with the Millers and was a virtual ever-present this season, making 45 appearances.

But Evans does not envisage him being part of his plans and the former Tranmere man is joined on the way out of Don Valley by left-back Tom Newey, who leaves after two years at the club.

Defenders Richard Naylor and Luke Foster and midfielders Ollie Banks and Marcus Marshall had already learned their fate and will also leave the club, while Paul Warne has retired, but will stay on as a development coach.

Defender Michael Raynes, who only joined the club in August, and goalkeeper Jamie Annerson have been transfer-listed and are free to find a new club.

Evans said: "On behalf of everyone at Rotherham United I would like to thank every player for their efforts over the last 10 months or so. It is also very appropriate that we wish those lads leaving us every success for the remainder of their careers and remind them that they are indeed all very welcome to come back and see us at the New York Stadium."
