The 20-year-old centre-half has started running as he continues his recovery from the anterior cruciate ligament damage he sustained at the end of March.
He told the club's official website: "I've been in the gym pretty much since I had the operation, so for me to now start running is a massive step.
"I can do all the work in the gym now and I'm increasing the running. I have a programme to follow and it is now a case of building my fitness up and getting stronger.
"It was obviously a big blow, as you can imagine, when I suffered the injury, but you always have to stay positive."
