Zola: Key factor

Congolese Zola, Albion's current player of the year, is rumoured to be a target for League Two rivals Cheltenham and Plymouth Argyle.

Rowett insists he has had no official contact regarding the 27-year-old and that Zola remains a key part of his plans going forward.

"I've not heard a dickie bird from any club about Calvin, though someone did mention there had been some speculation flying around," said Rowett. "I think this is just wild speculation. I'm more in the market for signing another striker rather than losing one.

"Calvin is still a key factor in what we are trying to do. There are very few strikers of his stature and ability around at our level."

Zola has a year remaining on the contract he signed when he joined Burton on a permanent basis from Crewe last summer.
