Rowett: Looking to build on stalemate

Neither side could find the target on an afternoon when both sets of defenders dominated and although Morecambe looked the more threatening, the home side could not find the finishing touch to some neat build-up play, much to the disappointment of Shrimps manager Bentley.

Burton boss Rowett admitted his side were off the pace but was delighted with the draw. He said: "We have had a really tough week with two away games and there is no doubt that has taken it out of the lads. We lacked a bit of fizz and our normal sparkle in the final third of the field, and sometimes that is what happens.

"We didn't create too many chances but at the other end I thought our defence was excellent against a side who we knew would have been lifted by their home win against Chesterfield in midweek.

"Despite the pressure they had they haven't really tested our goalkeeper and I am delighted to come away with the point. It's a result that extends our unbeaten run further and we can look to build on that with the home games coming up."
