Darikwa, who only agreed a one-year extension in the summer, has been rewarded for being one of the Spireites' most consistent performers so far this season.

The 20-year-old has scored two goals in 15 appearances for the League Two side this season.

He has played much of his football at right-back for Chesterfield but has proved a real threat when operating out on the wing.

Darikwa made his debut for the club at the age of 18 in a FA Cup second-round defeat to Burton in November 2010.

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.
