Morecambe youngster James Short has joined Evo-Stik Premier League outfit Lancaster City on a one-month loan deal.

The rookie defender will continue his development under the guidance of City's joint-manager and ex-Shrimps midfielder Neil Wainwright.

"I think James has done well for us and this move will really help him," boss Jim Bentley told Morecambe's official website.

"He will be playing really competitive, regular games at a good level and he will learn a lot as a footballer."

Short is yet to make his senior debut for Morecambe.
