The Cod Army boss was delighted with his side's performance - the home side dominating possession to earn themselves a return to the play-off spots on a rain-soaked afternoon at Highbury.
The three points were secured by David Ball's header - the highlight of a superb second half display.
He said: "I'm learning all the time. At every warm up, every training session, every game I'm taking stuff in.
"I've got staff around me doing the same and we'll continue to do so.
"I think the first half went a bit flat towards the end, we had to get the tempo back up and the momentum and I think we did that.
"We were pushing for the goal, we got it and we kept going. I thought we deserved the three points but it was tough to get them.
"Morecambe were a resilient side and had their own threats but I thought we deserved the win."
