Brindley was released by Norwich last summer having failed to make a first-team appearance for the Canaries.

The 19-year-old helped non-league Chelmsford reach the FA Cup second round this season with a shock 3-1 win over League One club Colchester.

He appeared 24 times for the Clarets in total.

Brindley is expected to go straight into Paul Cook's Chesterfield squad for their League Two fixture at Torquay on Saturday.
