Luke Joyce:Confident ahead of Vale clash

Stanley claimed an impressive 2-0 win over Micky Adams' promotion chasers early in the season, but a repeat appears unlikely with Leam Richardson's side struggling three points above the relegation zone.

"We had a great start to the season," Reds skipper Joyce said. "We beat Port Vale 2-0 and are one of the few teams to keep a clean sheet against them.

"We can take confidence from that but they've had a really good season so far and we're in our position because that's where we deserve to be at this moment in time.

"So it's going to be a tough game but, for whatever reason, we seem to do quite well against the so-called better teams in our league and some of the results we've picked up against the top six or seven have been encouraging.

"We're going there on a big pitch, will try to get he ball down and play as we like to and hopefully we can get another positive result

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!

hat is arguably the least inspiring England I have ever seen. There is not a single name in that list that makes me think I might actually want to watch this team. Not a one.
