Birchall, who qualifies to play for the Caribbean islands through his mother, has not played for his country since November 2011.

Head coach Hutson Charles has ended the 28-year-old's international exile by naming him in the squad to face Belize in a friendly on March 22.

His recall means he will miss Vale's League Two fixture against Aldershot at Vale Park the following day.

Birchall has won 39 international caps since making his debut in 2005, including a start against England in the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
