The Robins will now play Northampton Town over two-legs with the Bantams facing Burton Albion with a place in the Wembley play-off final at stake.

"Bradford are a really, really good side - they got to the final of the Carling Cup - so I'm not too disappointed that we won't be playing them," Yates said.

"That's no disrespect to Northampton who are also a good team with a top manager but Bradford are a really good team.

"We are in the play-offs and that's a great achievement for the players on the back of the disappointment of last year. We have to use that in a positive manner to make sure that we are as good as we can be on Thursday and as good as we can be on the following Sunday.

"The league doesn't lie after 46 games and we are right up there with the best. We can be a little bit disappointed today because we have not got that third spot but we need to go back to work and get ready to go again. It just wasn't our day and Marlon [Pack] summed things up when he hit the post - not that it would have mattered.

"If you get 20 clean sheets then you should be getting automatic promotion but it's a strange league this year. It has been really tight from top to bottom."

t's wrong to be making a joke out of Bender's name at the expense of gay people. Does it make your writers feel like men? F365 might suggest that I 'lighten up', but it is genuinely traumatic for people who have been oppressed all their lives to be the butt of jokes, and to be told...

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.
