The 39-year-old, who first joined the Millers in 1999, has racked up 10 years at the club over two different spells.

He played a prominent part in Ronnie Moore's side which won back-to-back promotions and then stayed in the second tier for four years, while he was on Steve Evans' coaching staff this year as the Millers earned a return to League One after six years away.

And old and new will come together at New York Stadium on Sunday as the current crop of Millers take on a legends XI, featuring the players who excelled under Moore.

"I am just really excited," Warne said.

"It's been a rollercoaster season, with an amazing ending and I am pleased to have my legends playing against this promotion side.

"Hopefully it will be a sunny Bank Holiday Sunday for all Rotherham fans, who I want to come in retro shirts - the older the better.

"With promotion, the parade on Wednesday and my game it is just one celebration after another."

The Millers will receive their runners-up trophy ahead of the 2pm kick-off.
