The Minstermen sealed another season in the Football League with victory at Dagenham & Redbridge on the final day.

Manager Nigel Worthington, who replaced Gary Mills in March, steered his side to four wins and two draws in their last six matches as they finished four points above the bottom two.

"The fans have been phenomenal, home and away since I've been here," Worthington said.

"They have got behind the team and have made a big difference. The away support at York City has amazed me.

"There were 1,200 there for our final league game at Dagenham & Redbridge and that speaks volumes for themselves and York City."
