Town announced earlier this week that Hunt, 30, was leaving the club despite having a year remaining on his contract.

The right-back made 91 appearances for Crawley and helped the club to two promotions but he has now agreed a two-year deal, with the option of a further year, at League Two United.

Oxford boss Chris Wilder told the club website: "David has won this league and played at a higher level."
