Brother of Bolton's US international Stuart, Holden has signed a one-year contract and joins fellow new signing Gareth Roberts at Gigg Lane.

Holden initially signed for Kevin Blackwell's side on non-contract terms in February but appeared just once in the Shakers' last game of the season against Yeovil.

The 26-year-old American previously had a spell in the MLS with Houston Dynamo and made 34 appearances for Stockport after joining the Hatters in August 2011.
