The 28-year-old was available on a free transfer after his contract at League Two rivals Accrington Stanley expired.

The player underwent a medical with the club on Wednesday before putting pen-to-paper on a deal through to June 2014.

It is believed the former Sligo winger snubbed offers from a number of League One sides in favour of a move to John Sheridan's men.

He joins Marvin Morgan, Dominic Blizzard, Lewis Alessandra and Luke McCormick in signing permanent deals at Home Park this summer, while Reuben Reid has joined from Yeovil on a season-long loan.
