Former Spireite Evatt rejoined the club last month but has yet to feature for the League Two side as he regains full fitness following nine months out after knee surgery.

The central defender, 31, manager Paul Cook's captain-in-waiting, made his first appearance for the Blues last week, getting 70 minutes under his belt in a 5-1 win over Grimsby.

He featured in another friendly on Tuesday afternoon at Sheffield Wednesday's training ground and played the entire match as Chesterfield beat a strong Owls team 2-0 thanks to a couple of Eoin Doyle goals.

Cook said last week that should Evatt come through the game unscathed there was a possibility he could come into consideration for the league trip to Portsmouth at the weekend.

Meanwhile, the Spireites took the opportunity to look at three trialists against Sheffield Wednesday and Press Association Sports understands Cook is trying to arrange for another trialist, who plays for a non-league club, to come and train with Chesterfield this week.

t's why Mourinho is so successful. He gives players a specific, limited set of functions to perform. They are but a cog in a machine. Do no more, do no less. I assume he learnt it from LvG :)

I

really hope that someone in the mainstream media spots that the Bayern manager played for and managed Barcelona quite well, and thinks to mention it in the build up. That would be really interesting.
