The Pirates lost 2-1 to arch rivals Bristol City on Wednesday night but more than held their own against League One opposition and Ward now wants to see his charges put in a similar display at Home Park.

"We've got to recover now, we put a huge effort in," he said. "I pretty much used the same players who played on Saturday in a tough game and I saw Plymouth at Cheltenham - it is going to be a hard one again.

"We'll travel down Saturday and see if we can replicate what we showed. If we can replicate some of that then great. I'm hoping we can get close to it.

"It will be tough for the guys but they work hard for the club and the supporters and they'll do it again.

"We performed well against a side who were in the Championship. You can take a lot of good things from a one-goal defeat so I am very positive."
