Pompey have won just once in the league so far this season and Saturday's 2-2 draw at Cheltenham was the third time they have thrown away the lead to draw away from home.

However, Whittingham said: "You're more worried if you don't play well, but that's not the case with us.

"Everyone knows that we're conceding too many goals and we need to finish games off, but we win and lose as a team.

"We know where we need to improve and we'll work hard to do that."
