Yates' men have won only twice this season and have picked up just nine points, but their manager, who steered the club to the play-off semi-finals last season, is sure the crowd will keep playing their part.

"It's frustrating for me and the boys," Yates told BBC Gloucestershire. "I'd say (to the fans) stick behind the team and stick behind the players.

"They're good supporters, they're not abusive or stuff like that. If we stick together we'll be fine.

"I'm talking about us being braver. Braver with the ball and being brave when it matters.

"I think the supporters saw the effort and all the commitment. Everyone's just got to keep working and raising their game."

I

think all those names linked to United exits make sense. Kagawa has never really looked like hitting the form he had at Dortmund and Fellaini is radioactive after last season (even though I think he's been unfairly singled out for criticism). Nani and Anderson have had more than their fair share of chances so they are done, and Hernandez deserves better than warming a bench.
