Neil Warnock: Hails the feel-good factor at the club

The 4-2 derby win at Huddersfield on Saturday was Leeds' third successive league win after a damaging run of three straight defeats, but their latest success has lifted them back to within three points of the play-off places and has helped transform the atmosphere within the Elland Road camp.

"The mood's changed completely," said Warnock, who expects to be working for new employers, Bahrain investment bank GFH Capital, on December 21 when the club's £52million takeover is scheduled to be completed.

"You can see that the pressure on everyone has lifted and the doom-and-gloom merchants have gone.

"We haven't just won these three games. We've deserved to win them. We look like a team who are going to win games in this league and 10 days ago I couldn't honestly have said that.

"We were the better side (against Huddersfield) and there's a confidence about the players now. Everything's positive again.

"To get Tate and Thomas and have new owners coming in was such a breath of fresh air. You could feel it hitting everybody.

"I know the takeover shouldn't have affected the players but it has done. Some of the lads have said to me that they didn't feel right with everything that was going on and all the uncertainty and apprehension.

"It was almost like there was only one way of getting rid of it and that was for the takeover to go through.

"In football you get feelings about things and as soon as the Thomas deal came in a couple of hours after Tate I thought 'we've got a chance now'. They're not massive changes but the effect on everyone was huge."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
