The former Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and QPR boss said he had never experienced noise levels like it after Leeds striker Luciano Becchio had given the home side a first-half lead against the European champions.

"I've never heard anything like the noise when the first goal went in," Warnock said.

"It should be like that here every week. It was amazing to listen to that noise. It shows what can be done at a club like this.

"Goodness knows what European nights must have been like because it was an amazing atmosphere. If we can get things right here, there's no reason why we can't push to have that every week. It's a super club with the crowds we can get isn't it?"

Leeds are scheduled to confirm the completion of the club's takeover by Bahrain investment bank GFH Capital on Friday and Warnock is anxious to learn what cash will be made available to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window.

Warnock, who feels the home league game with Middlesbrough is more important than the Chelsea clash, added: "I think if Leeds sorted themselves out now there's no reason why they don't push to get this regularly.

"We haven't got to get cut adrift in the Championship. It's a big week all told for Leeds with the talk about the takeover (completion) on the 21st. We've just got to look to keep going and try and build something even better in January.

"I think this game must have whetted everybody's appetite, I know it's shown me what kind of club it could be."
