Chris Wood stole the headlines at Ashton Gate on Saturday with a first-half hat-trick to take his tally to six goals in three games for the Foxes since his £2million arrival from West Brom.

While Pearson praised the New Zealander's contribution, he highlighted the collective over the individual following a fourth straight victory in all competitions.

"It was a great hat-trick," Pearson said after the game on Saturday. "Chris is doing what we hoped he would do, things are falling for him and he's taking his opportunities. But the most important thing is that we win games as a team and he's playing his part in that.

"They're a good group to work with because they work hard, they're honest and they get on pretty well.

"They're focused on trying to get success for the club and for themselves, and that's important."

Pearson, meanwhile, insists the injury sustained by Anthony Knockaert at the weekend is not a serious one.

Knockaert was substituted after just 20 minutes on Saturday. The French winger came off worse following a challenge with Liam Kelly but he is expected to recover quickly.

"Anthony got a knock in training on Thursday and took one in the same place," said Pearson following the game at Ashton Gate. "He wasn't well in the morning and it was touch and go whether he was going to play. I think he'll be okay, but it was a pretty easy decision to make the change.

"We coped pretty well with Anthony going off early on, as Lloyd (Dyer) came on and did a good job for us on the right."
