Nigel Pearson: Prepared to win ugly on a poor pitch

Successive 2-1 defeats to Peterborough and Charlton have seen the Foxes fall out of the top two and down to fifth in the Championship table ahead of Saturday's trip to Bloomfield Road.

"I think we've just got to make sure that we deal with their shape, deal with the conditions and play the conditions," said Pearson.

"We might have to [win ugly] because the pitch is so poor. The bottom line though is that results are more important than the performances.

"We'd always like to play well, of course, but you've got to do all you can to win the game and if it takes an ugly performance from time-to-time, fine, but we've got good technical players and players with a lot of character.

"The important thing is that we concentrate on what we do and the things that we can effect in the game."
