CS: Town result was a one-off

Leicester's previous league meeting with Ipswich will have little bearing when the Foxes travel to Suffolk for the reverse fixture, according to City assistant manager Craig Shakespeare.

Craig Shakespeare: Focused on Ipswich clash

The Tractor Boys were on the receiving end of a 6-0 thrashing at the King Power Stadium in November.

The Foxes returned to winning ways with an impressive display against Blackburn in midweek, and Shakespeare will be pointing to that performance rather than what happened three months ago.

"We're professional enough to know that was a one-off game in terms of a result," Shakespeare told the club's official website.

"We know that they've kept clean sheets since then and they've been resilient.

"Typical of Championship teams, they've got some good quality players. I think they've become more workmanlike [under Mick McCarthy] and results and performances have become indifferent like with a lot of teams.

"We'll be reminding our players about the Blackburn performance rather than the Ipswich game. But the message to our players is always to focus on the next game and make sure that we do everything in our power to get the three points."
