Pearson targets maximum haul

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson admitted his side must probably win all four of their remaining Championship games if they are to make the play-offs after they were held 2-2 at home by Birmingham.

A Curtis Davies own goal saw Leicester take an early lead at the King Power Stadium before Nikola Zigic equalised just after the hour mark.

Jeff Schlupp then looked to have ended their eight-match winless run when he headed them back in front only for Birmingham substitute Chris Burke to score a last-minute penalty after David Nugent was adjudged to have fouled Wes Thomas inside the area.

Pearson's side must now play eighth-place Bolton on Tuesday night followed by games with Crystal Palace, Watford and Nottingham Forest, sides who are currently fourth, third and fifth in the table respectively.

"We probably have to win all four of our remaining matches now. It's do-able," said Pearson.

"We've got to win the next game, but then we've been saying that for a while now.

"We've created enough chances to win this game comfortably and really we should have won the game.

"After Brighton at the weekend, that's two games running now that we've conceded equalising goals late in the game and had to settle for a draw.

"It's difficult to swallow. The mistakes that we are making at the moment are costing us dearly."

till reckon Chelsea will go for Khedira as back up for Matic. I think it will turn out to be quite a Mourihno-y window: We'll see the squad players and youth in action pre-season, say things like well, we need not buy anybody and then the club will bid £60m for Pogba and send everybody on loan.

would love to be a fly on the wall at the meeting between Milner and Rodgers. I don't know if flies can count, but if they can then I would be counting the number of times Rodgers used the word outstanding in his attempts to get Milner to sign.

Reds and Arsenal chase Milner

ell, it wouldn't be a summer without Arsenal fans fretting over losing a key player, and United throwing their weight around and muscling in on transfer deals which are (apparently) near to completion. If we can't be entertained by the football on the pitch, let's enjoy the silly off-pitch soap opera of the transfer season. Hurrah!
