Sturridge: Linked with Liverpool move

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been tracking the 23-year-old forward since the summer and is keen to bring in the England international as soon as the transfer window opens next month.

It is understood Sturridge will be in Liverpool on Sunday and Monday for further negotiations and a medical with a view to him completing a move in just over a week's time.

Liverpool, who have refused to comment, cannot officially register any new signing until January 2 when the transfer window opens.

The Reds are also still hopeful of securing a deal for Blackpool forward Tom Ince. The 20-year-old left the club in 2011 after turning down the offer of a new contract but Rodgers is keen to bring back the player, who has scored 13 goals in the Championship.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
