Reds fans blast ticket prices

Fans' group Spirit of Shankly have condemned Liverpool's season ticket price rises next season as "an insult to long-standing supporters".

Optional hobby isnt affordable to all shocker. The price difference at its worst is probably equivalent to drinking 1 less pint a week or less. Choces choices choices.

Look they are right about this; what people forget to consider is that kopites must add the cost of washing the stench from every pore; that's industrial strength detergent right there.... (slightly disgruntled by the baiting kopites on Everton stories today)

@hump3. Not really. When I first read it, it was the main story of the page and mentioned 1989 and how it was "the last time we were any good" in a snidey comment. I didnt make it up. So yes it was a statement attributed to 365. So yes I still by my 5 year old comment. Run along now.

Its interesting that in Germany as part of the FFP agreement there is an agreed ticket price across the board. This was due to fans protesting against the rise in ticket prices together, boycotting games and fan protests getting media coverage to pressure the clubs into making a fair deal for fans. In this country you only have to look at the negative reaction of some supporters to this and the City boycott at Arsenal to see that some teams fans can t put rivalry aside for the greater good. Can t see that at the end of the day we re all just football fans. Sad really.

@Vdawg. The only reference to 1989 i can see in the article is a statement made by the group. You know, Spirit of Shankly, yet you seem to have made the astronomical jump to assume its a statement attributed to 365 and then you say you think this is all the work of a 5 year old? Brilliant logic. batsh*t mental, but brilliant in its absurdity.

Fans want more investment in the team, we just recorded a loss, price freeze last year, what else could happen (of course it's easier for me to say that from Australia since I only made 1 game last season and probably won't again for a couple of seasons)

Probably a consequence of FFP and clubs like Liverpool wanting a Euro licence to compete in Europa or Champions League. In the end you have to make enough money to present a roughly balanced yearly set of accounts and that means amongst other things, raising ticket prices.

m curious as to what image Real Madrid are trying to re-establish as I always thought their pre-Jose image was one of a bunch of a classless bullies tapping up whoever they wanted while living it large on borrowed money they're never going to pay back.
