The Denmark international has endured a tough time since joining the Bundesliga outfit in 2010, with a difference of opinion with coach Felix Magath leading him to spend the 2011/12 campaign on loan at Roma.

With Magath having since been replaced by Dieter Hecking, Kjaer returned to favour last term.

It has, however, been suggested that he could be on the move again when the transfer window re-opens as he has just 12 months left to run on his current contract and has seen Timm Klose drafted in from Nurnberg to bolster the defensive ranks at Wolfsburg.

Liverpool and Newcastle United have been credited with holding an interest in Kjaer in the recent past, but the 24-year-old centre-half says he would be happy to remain in Germany on fresh terms.

He told Ekstra Bladet: "It depends on our negotiations and how Wolfsburg see things.

"I certainly would be willing to sign. If they were to offer a new contract and could offer guarantees about playing an important part, it would be a possibility.

"Wolfsburg are a club who want to fight at the top of the table and have the resources to do that.

"The Bundesliga is a fantastic place to play football right now and it is not a bad place for me. I am happy to be at Wolfsburg and have declared that ever since the new coach was appointed."

still can't see the Phil Jones thing that some people go on about. Whenever I watch him play it's a repeat of headless chicken meets a gurning Bambi on ice for 90 minutes.

P

robably the first list I've come across in a long time where I agree with a large majority of what was written. Can't agree with everything though, Zaba has had an awful season by his standards, I'd put Monreal (a player who I've never rated) up there, gotta give credit where it's due, he's really stepped up his game.
