Brendan Rodgers' team went five points clear at the top of the table with a narrow 3-2 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday.

Raheem Sterling scored twice and set up the other for Suarez, who said that they have to maintain their focus for their next game against second-placed Chelsea.

"We are happy because we got three points, which are very important for us," he told Sky Sports.

"We worked really hard today. Playing against Norwich is very difficult as they are fighting against relegation.

"In football you never know what is going to happen. I think we have to keep calm and focus on the next game against Chelsea. It is important.

"At the start of the season we targeted finishing in the top four and now I think it is done."

Suarez scored his 30th league goal of the season on Sunday, becoming the first Liverpool player since Ian Rush to do so since 1987, and he is the first to reach that mark in the top five European leagues this season.

The Uruguay international played down his achievement and said that winning as a team is more important to him than personal success.

"It is important for me but my target is to help the team every time I play," he said. "We are at the top now and we should enjoy this moment."

h Daniel. I could spend hours on this subject putting the world to rights. You can even take a step back and ask why football fans (and society in general) have this need to know that something will happen before it actually does. There are times this important, when it comes to things like war, food production and natural disasters. A man you've never met changing his job? Not so much.

reat article. Hits the nail on the head. Encapsulates why I don't read tabloid newspapers anymore. The only thing worse is the 'told you so first' headline when they get lucky.
