The 56-year-old was expected to hand some of his younger players the opportunity to impress during the closing stages of the season now that Palace's Premier League status has been preserved.

But the former Stoke manager has admitted that he will not be in a position to experiment too much with his line-up when Liverpool pitch up at Selhurst Park in next Monday's televised clash.

"I think it's my responsibility to pick the strongest team, and the team that's done the best," Pulis said.

"If I make too many changes for the Liverpool game I think that might cause some problems.

"Having said that I see Jose made a lot of changes and won at Liverpool, so maybe I'll ring him and ask him 'what's the best way to go?"'

Palace suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of title-chasers Manchester City on Sunday after first-half strikes from Edin Dzeko and Yaya Toure.

That result saw their five-game winning run halted, but Pulis hopes his side can pick themselves up and finish their season in style beginning with a good performance in their final home game of the season against Liverpool.

"It's difficult, I've been in this position before once you reach safety," he said.

"They've been absolutely fantastic this year, what the club have achieved this year, what the players have done for this football club, what the supporters, who again were absolutely wonderful, what they've done together as a group has been amazing.

"Our players shouldn't worry too much about a 2-0 defeat to the most expensive club side in world sport.

"That said, there's another game against a fantastic football club coming up, a night game where there will be a great atmosphere here.

"And I just hope the players are on it and we give a real good show."

m only commenting on this (I don't care about Liverpool) because F365's twitter said I had call Matt Stanger a tw*t (which I don't agree with anyway) but I just wanted to be the first. Am I the first?

Trial And Error Rather Than Transition

S

unday, Sunday. Will there be a fan of either team, who if they are winning after 80 mins, won't still be nervous? This could be anything from 0-0 to 5-5, and no one would bat an eye.
