Happy Hallmark Day!!! Because I can only tell her I love her once a year!!!
On to football. Tevez is coming back, Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
This has not made my day at all. He believes he has been treated like a dog, and that SAF is the best manager he has played under. While I can accept that he feels SAF is great, is it wise to say such a thing when in the same breath you say you want to win the fans over?
I truly hope he never plays for us again. I know what I saw that night in Munich, a professional footballer refuse to do as he was asked.
He says he didn't want to warm up again, well I say tough Carlos, you're paid a lot of money to do as you are told. People seem to think we need him to win the title, despite being top since October! Even if this is true, but I'd rather finish 2nd to United than have him play a part in any glory for us.
If he plays for us again, it will be a disgrace. Any City fan who sticks by Tevez after what he has said and how he has acted is a fool!! He has made a mockery of our club and manager, he has belittled our City, and despite what he thinks he refused to follow instructions within his workplace that resulted in him not coming on to try and win an important game for us.
Go away Tevez, we were having so much fun without you.

Sorry Mess
...No one is to blame for this sorry mess other than Rangers themselves and the revelation yesterday by Whyte that Rangers were still operating at a 10M annual loss (presumably interest payments) despite the slashing of their playing staff and gates of close to 50,000 was quite staggering.
Scottish football has been a mess since the late 80s due the entirely lop sided nature of the league and every fan in Scotland will be feeling delighted about Rangers' predicament given their endurance of watching Rangers win nine in a row on the back of racking up a credit card debt that Mr Murray and the Ibrox side had no means of paying.
David Murray's legacy to Rangers it would appear is not the fantastic training and youth complex that bears his name and is actually an abyss for them to fall in to. The problem for Scottish football is that black holes aren't selective about what gets sucked in, they take everything without exclusion.

We're Sorry
A large picture of both Steve Bruce AND Neil Warnock on the homepage. You can't do that to people, it'll put them off their dinners and leave them waking up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night.

He's Sorry
I sent an email (which was posted by your fine site) on Tuesday 3rd January (bloody hell how long has this appalling situation been disintegrating for?!) asking that Liverpool soften their stance in order to resolve the situation. In amongst probably far too many words, was the nub: 'Liverpool need to understand that this is a fight they cannot win, and that fighting on is doing them more harm than good.'
Sadly Liverpool failed to understand this at the time, which is why we have now reached this historically low point for Liverpool Football Club. I believe that most reasonable Pool fans shared the above view and simply wanted the vile situation resolved as quickly as possible, but obviously a significant proportion (including the match day crowd) did not agree as they were fooled by Suarez's version of events and the subjectivity of the entire situation.
There were too many grey areas for Kenny and the club to fall into. Suarez could have blown these grey areas away himself, but chose not to (or could not do so due to language difficulties, but that sounds like a pretty desperate excuse now) which left Kenny and the club in an appalling situation - they believed it was their man's word against another's, and that their man was telling the truth.
What followed was unedifying at the very least. On Kenny's appointment some people said that he had been out of the game too long to be effective now. On results alone, this view has been proved to be incorrect (although we need to score more) - however Kenny's handling of the Suarez/Evra situation has proved that he has clearly not kept up with the development of modern media and the associated proliferation of digital channels. Kenny apparently failed to realise that ANY comment other than a full and frank apology was going to further fan the flames.
I believe that Kenny and the club's apologies are genuine, and that they were defending their man only because they were in the horrible position mentioned above. Suarez helped put them in this position, but this has only now come to light. Whether or not Suarez's apology is genuine remains to be seen - an apology to Evra should now follow if Suarez wants to retain his shirt. Hopefully all Liverpool fans can join me in expressing their regret for this situation, and apologise to everyone concerned including, most importantly, Patrice Evra. I am sorry.

This Is What Is Meant By 'Harming The Brand'
Since I began watching football 10 years ago I have been a Liverpool fan. As an American I would get up at 5:30am sometimes on the weekends to watch the live matches. I now will no longer support Liverpool, which I find heartbreaking.
I have packed away my Liverpool kits as I do not support or tolerate racism and I find the way this whole issue has been handled, not just by Suarez, but by the club, disgusting.
I sadly am the new fan that the Premiership is going after American middle class, small town, and female to boot. This whole incident and the reaction from not only the club management (excuses anyone), but the fans has really turned me off Liverpool. This handshake thing was the absolute last straw and Kenny Dalglish comments afterwards were despicable. John Henry you need to do something, I personally believe that you would never allow this to happen at the Red Sox so why are you allowing it at Liverpool?
One man is never bigger than the club or so I have always heard and if this is true why the club is supporting a player who obviously has issues (I mean he did at one time bite another player) is beyond me. I also realize he may be the team's best player, so what, if he throws the team into such a nasty light.
Sorry I know lifelong Liverpool fans will never understand my point and will feel that since I am not a Scouser that I just do not get it. What I do get is the booing of a player every time he touches the ball because he made a complaint about racial abuse is uncalled for. I do know that a team defending the player and making it seem that they support the players continuing actions uncalled for. I do know after being assured by a manager the issue has been put to rest, then said manager defending the offending player when he stirred it up again is uncalled for.
I do know that I will never spend another penny on anything Liverpool which I feel is quite called for. I have children and for me to teach them tolerance and then to support a club that shows so little is hypocritical and I lead by example in my family. This may be a lesson that Dalglish and Henry may want to take a look into.

It's One Way Of Looking At It
Would it be a good time to mention that the insurance company Liverpool use is AON? Yes, that's right. Liverpool indirectly pay Manchester United cold hard cash money every year!

Suggested Mailbox Rules
I propose some new rules for the Mailbox based on the quality of Friday's mailbox where you basically banned letters from either Liverpool or Man United supporters.
1. Any mention of Suarez/Handshakes/Racism/Evra should immediately make the letter un-publishable (yes, I do understand that includes this one)
2. Anyone commenting on postmatch "controversies" must have a genuinely new angle, not one based on a Sun article, match of the day comment or even astute/funny comment in MediaWatch
3. Mails should be three paragraphs long, expect when they are longer or shorter.
4. If you want to use the phrase "Obligatory third paragraph" or "That is all", feel free. It makes it easier for regular readers of the site to ignore your email
5. Quoted items in between a letter writers first and last name should never be longer than the letter itself
6. If you want to rant, point fingers or just rake up more trouble between tense and wound up low IQ fans and , just use the "comments" section under each article, that's what they were invented for.
7. Finally always praise the mailbox co-ordinator; Just imagine the legal tightrope the 17yr old work experience guy has been walking for a good 50% of this season.
That is all.
Obligatory third paragraph.

You Missed Man United 2-3 Blackburn
Not sure if anyone else feels the same, and I know it's the middle of February and we've still got just over 2 months to go before the end of the season, but surely this has got to be the most dramatic season ever in EPL and English football history, or indeed anywhere else in the world?
Since August last year the EPL soap opera has provided us the following episodes...
1. Joey Barton becoming part-time footballer, full-time Twitterator- philosopher
2. Tevez and Mancini somehow managing to miscommunicate over warming- up / coming on
3. Harry Redknapp 1 - 0 City of London Police (happy for him, by the way!)
4. Capello realising 6million quid a year isn't worth the hassle
5. Man Utd legend Paul Scholes coming out of retirement
6. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry coming out of semi-retirement (or the MLS, as they call it across the pond)
And then we of course have the big two which people will most probably still be arguing about a few years down the road,
7. Ferdinand-Terry
8. Evra-Suarez
Moving onto the real stuff that happens on the pitch, we've seen some really great (or shambolic, depending on who you support) team performances culminating in great games, with crazy results like...
1. Spurs 1 - 5 Man City
2. Man Utd 8 - 2 Arsenal
3. Blackburn 4 - 3 Arsenal
4. Spurs 4 - 0 Liverpool
5. Fulham 6 - 0 QPR
6. Man Utd 1 - 6 Man City
7. Chelsea 3 - 5 Arsenal
8. Fulham 5 - 2 Newcastle
9. Arsenal 7 - 1 Blackburn
10. Chelsea 3 - 3 Man Utd
Even with more than two months to go before the season's end, I can say for sure this has been the most dramatic season I've ever witnessed. What do my fellow F365 readers think? Has there been any other season that compares in terms of sheer drama, entertainment and quality of football?
